What we do
Governance 4.0
The protective role of Fourth branch Institutions over the sovereignty of the people is of critical and vital importance and can only be attained by a jealous and uncompromising assertion, exercise, and defence of their independence. This programme asserts that Independent Commissions are charged with the duty of vigilantly and keenly ensuring that the State organs to which sovereign power is delegated maintain the stance of delegates accountable to their principals, and remain always the servants of the people.
Devolution Watch
Devolution in Kenya has tremendous potential for transforming the lives and livelihoods of the people. To realize the full extent of devolution, the devolution watch programme seeks to catalyze County leaders to foster accountability, and good governance practices and to advocate the national government to embrace equity in its dealings with national resources, and policy planning.
Civic Technology
To bridge the digital divide, the civic technology program works at the intersection of technology and society to ensure that all people have access to digital technology and its benefits. We support free expression and open technologies and are committed to supporting engaged, self-sufficient communities by promoting safe and affordable access to connectivity. We seek to promote access to communications technologies that are both open and secure for a thriving society.
Economic and Social Rights
The socio-economic rights programme works to promote sustainable, inclusive, and innovative economic, political, and social life for Kenyans from all walks of life. Socio-economic rights provide protection for the dignity, freedom, and well being of individuals by guaranteeing state-supported entitlements to education, public health care, housing, a living wage, decent working conditions, and other social goods.
Climate Change
The Climate Change Programme aims at building and developing capacity both at the county and national levels to deal with the impacts of climate change, both on adaptation and mitigation. The programme also seeks to build grassroots networks in order to create civic awareness through training workshops, to meet and address their capacity needs.
